I love snack plates! 🫒
and you should too
you’re getting my Sunday newsletter on a Monday again, because I was traveling back from Austin yesterday AND my best friend arrived here in LA for a visit so it’s a little late. but it’s okay because today we’re talking about one of my favourite things: snack plates!!!
snack plates seem to be having quite the rebrand right now and I, for one, am on board (and have always been a huge fan). the idea of eating a meal of dips, pickled veggies, cheese and crunchy snacks has been popular in its various forms (hello charcuterie boards), but the snack plate du jour has exploded recently — first with the whole “girl dinner” era last year and more recently, the viral savoury girl snack plate.
regardless of what you want to call it, I love the idea of taking a variety of little bites and crafting them into something that meets the quota for a meal, especially on days when I’m feeling supremely lazy at lunchtime. with the endless options for vegetables, carbs and protein (tinned fish! parm! cured meats!), it’s a low effort way to create a satiating little lunch or dinner.
here are a few of my favourite combinations!
SNACK PLATE INSPO
this plate that I shared a couple weeks ago featuring jammy eggs, greek yogurt ranch, sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, pepperoncinis, castelvetrano olives (elite) + toasted pita bread
leftover chicken cutlet + roasted sweet potatoes, cucumbers, carrots, olives, yogurt ranch
jammy eggs, avocado, sheep cheese, salad, yogurt + granola
this iconic olive + feta checkerboard and whipped goat cheese stuffed figs that I made for our euro summer dinner party last year
this perfect breaky snack plate from Raina Patel
love the idea of adding lots of fresh fruit + cheese, like in these ones from Alana Lav
butter fried dates are a genius addition here from Jillian
a deconstructed sandwich plate from A Pretty Kitchen! say less
hope this gives you some good inspo for your next snack plate! see you Wednesday xx
