+ catching up!

Hello hello! I’m back from a very quick trip to Toronto to celebrate a friend’s marriage, which was so lovely (and I even managed a trip to my favourite restaurant). It felt like it was essentially in and out, and now I’m back in LA gearing up for a big few months of recipe testing! This year has been quite busy so far, which I love and am not complaining about at all, but I feel like I blinked and now it’s April and I’m playing catchup. Anyone else…?

For today’s newsletter, I wanted to share a big ol’ roundup of my favourite spring recipes (since I know you east coasters are starting to feel the first whispers of spring).

There’s also a few major holidays around this time and although I don’t really celebrate any of them, I know many of you might, and I personally am always looking for an excuse to celebrate life with a dinner party or gathering. So these recipes should do the trick! But first…

• ICYMI this past week: my salmon bowl went viral again (y’all love a salmon recipe and I love that), plus I shared my jammy egg tutorial

• I was in need of a simple, classic pair of kitten heels so when these babies from Sezane came back in stock in my size, I snagged a pair. I’m excited to amp up some loose pants and a simple tank top for an elevated summer look

• Need to recreate this salad I think

• My best friend is coming to visit in a couple weeks (for the first time since 2024!) and I truly cannot contain my excitement. This is firstly an excuse to plug her, because she writes about fashion on Substack in an exceptionally elegant way and anyone interested in the topic needs to be subscribed. Secondly, for her visit, I’m thinking I’ll try to get a table at LA’s hottest new restaurant, and then we’ll probably do a Malibu beach day, a Barnsdall picnic, several glasses of wine at my favourite bar and lots of neighbourhood walks/hikes. I’ve also been wanting to try Chainsaw for a while now so maybe this is the time…
